Training Updates

Coaches,

Skills clinics resume this Wednesday, January 4th, 2012.

These clinics will be held through January on Wednesday nights

at the EH Middle School as follows:

6:30 - 7:30 -  U 9, 10, 11 (boys and girls)

7:45 - 8:45 -  U12, U13, U14 (boys and girls)

The focus of the training will be on technical skills.  All players, no matter their current skill level, can improve upon their technical skills.  Players will learn the importance of proper technique and the ability to practice on their own.  Please encourage your players to attend even if you are not currently playing an indoor session.

Players should bring a change of shoes (indoor soccer shoes or sneakers), a ball, shinguards and a water bottle.  No sports drinks are allowed in the gym.

Our UCONN technical directors have all pointed to our club's need to continually work on technical skills for both players and coaches.

Coaches are expected to attend, participate and learn.  This is a training opportunity for all coaches and will move our club to more effective and uniform training.

Thanks,

Ron and Diane

==============================================

Coaches,

To the right on this page are four of the technical activities we will be utilizing for the clinics on Wednesday nights.  So far we have done variations of the "Slide" and the "Runner".

All the activities can be tuned to the ability level of the players. Activities selected may depend on the number of players participating within the limited space available.

Please review and print them out for your participation during the clinic.  Ask questions, give suggestions, and/or comments.

We must take the time to develop the skills necessary for our players to be successful.  These types of activities need to implemented as a regular part of our training sessions.

Feel free to email, or call me with with questions or discussion.

Thanks, Ron
