2012 NUTMEG STATE GAMES

SOCCER TOURNAMENT 

The Nutmeg State Games, now in its 24th year of running the largest premier Olympic-style multi-sport event in Connecticut will be holding its annual Soccer Tournament on July 23rd through July 28th, hosted by the City of New Britain.

The Nutmeg State Games is open tournament that any Connecticut Team can enter. each team will be guaranteed a minimum of three (3) games. We hope to see you in New Britain for the 2012 Nutmeg State Games!

SOCCER TOURNAMENT INFORMATION 

Dates:

 - Monday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 28th

  - Sunday, July 29th will be used as a make up day if we have inclement weather during the tournament.

Proposed Game Times:

Subject to change based on participation!

  -  (Weekdays) 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM

  -  (Weekends) 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Locations:

 - Veteran's Memorial Stadium

 - Willowbrook Park - 3 Fields

 - Sage Park - Berlin - 2 Fields

 - Falcon Field - New Britain - 1 Field

Entry Fee:

 - Registration Fee $400.00

Multi-Team Discount:

  -  5 Teams (15% Discount - $60.00 per Team)

  -  4 Teams (12% Discount - $48.00 per Team)

  -  3 Teams (10% Discount - $40.00 per Team)

  -  2 Teams (8% Discount - $32.00 per Team)

  -  Registration Deadline - Friday, June 29th

  -  ROSTER (Freeze) Deadline - Monday, July 16th

Format:

 - Round Robin / Pool Play format with a minimum 3 Game Guarantee.

Age Groups (Male & Female):

 -  11 & Under ( 8 vs. 8)

 -  12 & Under (11 vs. 11)

 -  14 & Under (11 vs. 11)

 -  16 & Under (11 vs. 11)

 -  18 & Under (11 vs. 11)

 -  19 & Over / OPEN (11 vs. 11)

• To recognize and reward Connecticut residents, of all ages, who have chosen to participate in healthy, wholesome activities that reflect positively on them, their families and respective communities.

• To provide a forum that initiates and encourages camaraderie between different ages, socioeconomic and cultural groups through athletic competition and fair play.

The Nutmeg State Games, through the venue of competitive sports, seeks to contribute positively to the physical, mental and emotional growth of our athletes. We believe that participation in athletics provides opportunities to develop the qualities of leadership, hard work, self confidence and mental and physical toughness. Competitive athletics lays the foundation for positive life long habits that contribute to a healthy life style and teaches team work, sportsmanship and respect for others. The Nutmeg State Games includes participants from all religious, racial and socio economic groups contributing to a truly statewide Connecticut event. Our athletes value the camaraderie that develops and an appreciation for the spirit of volunteerism that make the Games successful.
